1. Name of the course: Research project

2. Purpose of the course:

a. to acquaint the students with the scope and nature of research in Translation Studies

b. to enable the students to publicly present theses, methodologies and conclusions in the area related to translation specialization

c. to enable the students to coorganize a conference

d. to verify and order one's research projects and confront it with academic staff members' and fellow students' questions and comments

3. Main areas covered during the course:

a. finetuning the structure and content of one's thesis against the backdrop of TS standards

b. presenting one's research project in public with the aid of a skilfully crafted visual presentation (digital competences plus public speaking)

c. experiencing the challenges of organizing and participating in an academic conference

4. Didactic methods used:

a. event organizing within a predefined framework of requirements and presentation assessment criteria

b. presentation with discussion

c. holding a conference with students as hosts, moderators and speakers

d. public speaking

5. Graduate’s profile:

a. The graduate has an experience of tailormaking their research report for the sake of presenting it in public within the realms of a conference they have coorganized. They have mastered the strategies of managing time and stress, and of delivering a structured and visually appealing public presentation and discussing it with the use of TT metalanguage and specialized knowledge built-up in course of their MA programme.
