“Traces of Time” - wideoperformance Pracowni Badawczej Between.Pomiędzy i studentów ZIA z okazji 55-lecia UG - fotoreportaż
Z przyjemnością informujemy o premierze nagrania wideo unikalnego performance'u tanecznego “Traces of Time”, który odbył się 29 maja 2025 roku na Kampusie Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego.
“Traces of Time” to plenerowy performans site-specific, który w fascynujący sposób eksploruje pojęcie czasu poprzez ruch i choreografię. Czterdziestominutowe przedstawienie, które rozpoczęło się przed Biblioteką UG, zostało przygotowane specjalnie na konferencję naukową “Metamorphoses and Time” zorganizowaną z okazji 50. rocznicy istnienia Instytutu Anglistyki i Amerykanistyki.
Choreografia oparta na rytmie 12/8 zwraca uwagę na czas poprzez powtarzalne gesty i zapętloną formę, która stopniowo destabilizuje linearne pojęcie czasu.
Choreografię opracowali prof. Nigel Stewart (Profesor Wizytujący UG / Lancaster University – Wielka Brytania) oraz dr Katarzyna Pastuszak (Zakład Badań nad Sztukami Scenicznymi IAiA UG). Performans współtworzyli utalentowani studenci i studentki Zarządzania Instytucjami Artystycznymi na Wydziale Filologicznym UG.
“Traces of Time” stanowi przykład interdyscyplinarnego podejścia do sztuki performatywnej, łącząc teorię z praktyką artystyczną. Performans eksploruje fundamentalne pytania o naturę czasu, pamięć i zbiorowe doświadczenie, wykorzystując przestrzeń uniwersyteckiego kampusu jako integralną część dzieła.

Premiere of the video performance “Traces of Time” – Between.Pomiędzy Research Laboratory and ZIA students celebrate the 55th anniversary of the University of Gdańsk
We are pleased to announce the premiere of a video recording of the unique dance performance “Traces of Time”, which took place on 29 May 2025 at the University of Gdańsk.
“Traces of Time” is an outdoor site-specific performance that explores the concept of time in a fascinating way through movement and choreography. The 40-minute performance, which tookplace in front of the University of Gdańsk Library, was prepared especially for the scientific conference “Metamorphoses and Time” organised on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Institute of English and American Studies.
The choreography, based on a 12/8 rhythm, draws attention to time through repetitive gestures and a looped form that gradually destabilises the linear concept of time.
The choreography was developed by Prof. Nigel Stewart (Visiting Professor at the University of Gdańsk, affiliated with Lancaster University) and Dr Katarzyna Pastuszak (Department of Performing Arts, Institute of English and American Studies, University of Gdańsk). Talented students of Arts Management (ZIA) at the University of Gdańsk co-created the performance.
“Traces of Time” is an example of an interdisciplinary approach to performing arts, combining theory with artistic practice. The performance explores fundamental questions about the nature of time, memory and collective experience, using the university campus space as an integral part of the work.
